University is coming to an end, you’ll be throwing your Graduation Cap in the air in no time with your mother smiling down at you, taking a million and one pictures for your family photo album. Before University finishes, you need to ask yourself and your mates if everything has been ticked off your ‘before I graduate bucket list’? Here are twenty things to do before you graduate!
Rinse your Student Discount – Shop until you drop and buy as many things as you can carry with your student discount because you won’t be able to claim it after university finishes. Most places offer a student discount including Topshop and Topman so make like Cher in Clueless and get some retail therapy.
Party Hard –
- Have a wild Project X inspired house party for all your fellow grad students. Try and convince everyone to pitch in for the cleaners the next day.
Expand Your Horizons –
- Join a society you’ve always wanted to, whether it is a running club, book club, science club or hiking group – you’ll meet new people and have heaps of fun.
Do an all-nighter for an essay – Dare to leave the deadline to the final hours, get the coffee on, turn up the music and work round the clock. You know what they say? People work better under pressure.
Accept your Digital Flaws – Accidentally Snapchat/Tweet/Insta-story something you wish you hadn’t and then style it out. C’mon, we’ve all been there!
Get Social – Uni is a great place to make friends for life so get networking. Make friends and network with at least 5 random students on a night out
Charity Challenge – Raise money for a charity with some other students on your course.
Surprise your Tutor – Turn up to a lecture or seminar in your pj’s or a fancy onesie!
Road Trip – Go on a weekend getaway with students from your course
Hold A Dinner Party – Hold your own Come Dine With Me at your flat or Uni accommodation like this Coronation Street Special below. You could even order Zouk food via Deliveroo and pass it off as your own – we won’t tell anyone!
Dress Up- Have an 80’s themed house party and aim to party all night long
Stay In – Grab a whole load of snacks and have a movie night with all your flat mates, this will be the last hurrah!
Get Snap Happy – Take a funny picture with everyone on your university course, you never know who’s going to be a star. Here’s the Evening Standard on what to look out for.
Get the X Factor – Sing a funny song and embarrass yourself on campus.
Take A Chance – Let your friends arrange a blind date for you.
Take a Tour – Explore every single building and room (from top to tower) in your university.
Pass on the Knowledge – Become a mentor to someone in first year.
Give a Speech – Give public speaking a whirl and inspire your peers like Jessica in Twilight…which is here if you want to use it!
Jessica in Twilight – “When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our answers were things like astronaut, president, or in my case… princess. When we were ten, they asked again and we answered – rock star, cowboy, or in my case, gold medalist. But now that we’ve grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how ’bout this: who the hell knows?! This isn’t the time to make hard and fast decisions, its time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere chill. Fall in love – a lot. Major in philosophy ’cause there’s no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind. Then change it again, because nothing is permanent. So make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask again what we want to be… we won’t have to guess. We’ll know.”
