There’s one thing for sure, we know how to throw a good party! Last night we celebrated in spectacular style at our 7th birthday party in our Manchester restaurant.
It was hard to miss us with the fire eater outside the restaurant performing a host of tricks, and after that it was time to hit the red carpet (oh yes we’re A-list don’t you know!) before being given a special Zouk multi-coloured floral garland to wear for the evening. Inside, guests were welcomed by co-founders and owners Tayub and Mudassar Amjad who served up food from seven regions of the Indian sub-continent with Amritsari Fish Pakora from Amritsar, Gola Kebab from NWFP, Lamb Nihari from Lahore, Goan Fish Curry from Goa, Whole Sajji Roast Lamb from Baluchaistan, Dall Makhani from Deli, Kulcha Naan from Karachi.
Party goers picked up a playing card on arrival from a deck of cards which entitled them to complimentary drinks with the lucky number ‘7’ card equaling extra treats. Entertainment came courtesy of DJ Fritz, beautiful Bollywood dancers Desi Nach, a fabulous belly-dancer with a pet snake to spice things up and a henna tattoo artist who created fabulous designs for guests to add an extra special touch.
Co-founder and CEO Tayub Amjad said; “We’ve had an incredible seven years in business and we were so happy to welcome loyal customers and Manchester businesses to celebrate our achievement with us. Zouk has always been about innovative food in a cool, relaxed environment so it was perfect to spend our birthday event sitting on the sun lit terrace enjoying food and special Zouk cocktails amongst friends.”
Co-founder and Creative Director Mudassar Amjad said; “I created a special menu for the party which celebrated seven regions of India and Pakistan and included lots of customer favourites along with mine and Tayub’s personal favourite Lamb Nihari from Lahore. Over the seven years we’ve been in Manchester it’s become our home and we’ve really enjoyed serving up our signature dishes to a city that knows and appreciates good food. Our Manchester restaurant has helped us to define our style and tonight Zouk signature dishes were served alongside traditional food to give a real variety of treats. We had an amazing time with the Zouk community this evening party and give our heartfelt thanks for all their support over these seven amazing years.’
