October Half Term Fun, 3 Things To Do This Holiday

October Half Term Fun

If you are looking for things to do with kids in Manchester this half term or you just fancy a bit of inspiration for yourself, then here are 3 of our favourite ideas for a bit of October half term fun. Spoiler alert – one of them involves a pretty awesome curry!

Bedknobs & Broomsticks at The Palace This October Half Term

Bedknobs & Broomsticks at The Palace, Manchester

1) Catch A Show At The Palace

Theatre is back and we cant get enough of it. Just around the corner from us is one of our absolute favourites places to catch some live action, the iconic Palace Theatre. From Tuesday 19th October you can enter a world of magic with the fabulous Bedknobs and Broomsticks. It’s the first time this show has EVER been to Manchester and whether you are a fan of the original Disney movie or you are just looking for something a bit magical to enjoy with the family, this is a show that takes you on one heck of a ride. We’re heading over to see Wednesday’s performance and we cannot wait!

This spellbinding family show may be a tough act to follow but we are also super excited at the return of Hairspray The Musical on 25th October. Big hair, loads of heart and the fabulous sounds of the 60’s. What’s not to love?! There is plenty to enjoy in this classic feel-good show and we are just thrilled to see The Palace Theatre back with a full programme of fantastic entertainment. We’ll see you there!

The Whitworth Park Playground

2) Check Out The Whitworth

There are heaps of exciting outdoor things to do in and around Manchester at this time of year and it would be wrong not to mention some of the fabulous autumn walks available at beauty spots like Alexandra Park and Heaton Park. If you want something close to the centre though we highly recommend checking out The Whitworth museum and its neighbouring park. Grown ups can get their fix of art and culture while little ones can burn off some energy in the Whitworth Adventure Playground.

Find out more about Whitworth Park here or The Whitworth museum here. If you really cant decide then check out the Manchester Evening News for a round up of the best autumn walks.

Zouk Laal Maas curry

3) Warm Yourself Up with a Classic Zouk Curry

Call us biased but at this time of year whatever the question is curry is the answer! Once you’ve had your fill of the great Mancunian outdoors in our humble opinion there is nothing better then warming up with a hearty curry. Of course we have great favourites like our Chicken Tikka Masala and butter Chicken on the menu but why not venture into the unknown and give something new like our Murgh Mirch Salan with delicious jalapeno peppers or the fiery Laal Maas with Rajasthani red chillies a try. Whatever you decide you cant deny there is nothing quite as comforting as dipping a freshly baked naan into a bowl of tasty curry.

Starting from 25th October we will also have some warming Halloween inspired drinks to celebrate the season. From our Pumpkin Spiced Lattes to Zouk Spook Punch and the amazing Spiced Pumpkin Lassi there’s a seasonal beverage to suit every taste.
