Our Halal Restaurant in Manchester
At Zouk, all of the meat served as part of our restaurant and catering menus is fully halal. For many years, we have worked with our network of trusted suppliers and we only source our meat from halal-accredited butchers who are local to the Manchester area.
Absolutely! Whether you’re a fan of fish curries or grilled tandoori prawns, you can indulge in our delicious halal seafood options with confidence.
Given that we are not directly engaged in the slaughter or butchery processes, we do not believe obtaining halal accreditation for our restaurant is necessary. Our meat suppliers all have valid halal certification and we feel that this is sufficient for us and our customers.
Rest assured, we take thorough measures to prevent the contamination of halal food from alcohol. We have a dedicated set of glasses that are designated for water only – these are kept separate from those used for cocktails or alcohol to ensure a comfortable experience for halal diners. Additionally, all other glasses undergo a complete sterilisation process between uses to guarantee no traces of alcohol remain present. We also serve a range of bottled non-alcoholic beverages for those who would prefer not to use our glasses, despite the other precautions we take.
Ensuring a comfortable dining experience for our halal guests is a top priority at Zouk. To maintain separation between the bar area and the kitchen, we’ve strategically positioned them far away from each other – at opposite locations of the building.
As part of our commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of our partnerships, we don’t share details about our suppliers. This is usual practice within the industry but we can assure you that we only work with the highest quality halal-certified suppliers.
We take allergies and special dietary requirements very seriously at Zouk, always endeavouring to create the best experience for our guests. All of the big 14 allergens are detailed on the menu pages of our website. Simply look underneath the product description where you can see the allergens a dish may contain listed. If nothing is listed, then this dish is free of the big 14 allergens. If you have any questions about allergies or dietary requirements, please contact our team before making a booking.
