Ingredients For Turmeric Rice
- 1 cup Basmati Rice
- 1 tablespoon Butter Or Ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon Zouk Golden Turmeric
- 2 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4 green cardamoms
- 4 cloves
- 2 inches cinnamon
- 2 cups of water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method of preparation - Turmeric Rice
- Rinse rice: Rinse the rice several times to remove excess starch, then soak it for at least 15 minutes. Afterward, drain the rice and set it aside.
- Mixing the spices: Add the ginger garlic paste and sauté for 30 to 60 seconds, being careful not to burn it. Then, add all the whole spices to the ginger garlic paste and stir well to combine.
- Zouk Golden Turmeric: Add Zouk Golden Turmeric Powder for the perfect flavor, then blend the mixture well. Afterward, add the rinsed basmati rice to the mixture. Next, stir the rice with the spice mixture for 3 minutes, ensuring the rice absorbs the flavours.
- Cooking: Add the water then cover the pot and cook the rice for 15 minutes. However, cooking time may vary depending on the rice. Therefore, it's better to check the rice periodically to ensure it cooks evenly. Additionally, adjusting the heat as needed can help achieve the perfect texture. Lastly, once the rice is cooked, fluff it up and enjoy!
- Garnish: Once the turmeric rice is cooked, fluff it up gently with a fork to separate the grains. Then, to enhance the flavor and texture, garnish it with fresh coriander leaves. Finally, add a generous sprinkle of crispy fried onions on top for an added crunch and flavour boost.
